Curiouser: A Zoom Play

{VIRTUAL} SHORT PLAY. How do we navigate a chaotic world in which nothing is what it seems? Fall down the rabbit hole with Alicia and we journey through a ~virtual~ wonderland with her! This is a Wonderland like you've never seen it before! This Zoom-specific script is an energetic ensemble piece ripe for a creative virtual performance!

Commissioned by The Firehouse Theatre in Farmers Branch, TX.

Premiered August 2020 on Zoom, directed by Olivia Grace Murphy.

“Curiouser is a smart and quirky gloss on Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, conceived as a Zoom Class, with all the constraints and opportunities that venue implies. […] Curiouser was delightful and filled with ingenuity, shaping Carroll’s twilight zone to a plot that perhaps might alleviate our shared predicament, if only we can can roll with our ongoing challenges, resisting frustration and perplexity.”

this is fine.

ONE-ACT. Trauma is a swirling, never-ending cycle of hell. this is fine sends us through nine circles of a very specific kind of hell; investigating the process of sifting through all the dark, ugly parts of yourself and attempting to make sense of the chaos 2020 was. Not a quarantine play by any means, but written in 2020 as we were forced to confront the darkest parts of ourselves in isolation. Interspersed with moments of poetry and movement, an unflinching explication of the pain we try to bury away only until it boils over.
